Global  Area  Network   (GAN)

Inmarsat Global Area Network (GAN) provides the ability to communicate over the Inmarsat system using services ranging from 2.4 kb per second data and low cost voice up to 64 kb per second ISDNdata (up to 128 kbits/s using Bonded terminals) This service is capable of supporting videoconferencing and other high-speed data activities. The system uses the Inmarsat  Satellites which are in 5 locations around the globe providing coverage over most landmasses.

Marlec is a Xantic Inmarsat Service provider and can offer Hardware and connection for Inmarsat GAN. We also rent GAN systems on either long or short terms. Rental information is available on our GAN Rental page

 


     STORM
The global office becomes a reality with EMS's STORM Portable Satellite Terminal. You can work and keep in touch from remote situations - far from telephone networks, or without any other means of communicating with your headquarters, command post or broadcast studio. Talk, conference or exchange data at ISDN speeds, from anywhere in the world, using the Inmarsat Global Area Network.

EMS's CYCLONE Land Mobile Terminal extends the capabilities of the portable GAN terminal still further. Full ISDN connectivity can now be accessed from your vehicle - even when on the move.

A simple-to-fit conversion kit - consisting of a mounting cradle for the terminal, a power supply and a high performance land mobile steerable antenna - enables you to surf the Internet, access and send emails, access your VPN, transfer data and pictures, run live video conferencing, all at 64K, or send faxes at up to 14.4 kbps - whatever facilities you need to stay in touch while on the move.
