Broadband via satellite
- There are several broadband systems available
these include bgan and Fleet Broadband from Inmarsat and VSAT systems
using the iDirect equipment on the GE23 or PAS2 satellite. Data rates of up to
1500kb/s are possible for reasonable cost on VSAT.

In-Vehicle and Marine Systems
- In vehicle and Marine systems suit Transport and
Marine operators or other who do not want a Handheld device. These systems can
be embedded in the vehicle or boat and often provide higher reliability in
operation than handheld systems. Optus MobileSat is one of these systems and
is deployed in every NSW train that travels outside the metropolitan area.
There are Iridium and Thuraya and Inmarsat systems that are permanently mounted in vehicles
and boats.
